ARE YOU AVOIDING US? WE CAN HELP!

We know you love us! But maybe you or a family member or friend still hesitate to keep your dental appointments because you suffer from fear and anxiety. We can help you keep your appointments so you can get the treatment you need to keep your mouth and teeth healthy. Here’s how.

We Offer Relaxation Dentistry

If you suffer from anxiety that interferes with your oral care, you are not alone. Millions of people share those anxieties, many to the point of failing to receive the oral care they desperately need. That is why we offer the relaxation dentistry option. What is that?

Sedation dentistry employs medications to help you relax during a dental procedure. Depending upon the treatment you need and your level of anxiety, we provide several levels of sedation:

Minimal inhaled sedation — you will be awake but quite relaxed. Nitrous oxide gas (happy gas) may be inhaled to induce a state of relaxation. We control the amount of nitrous oxide you receive so it can be adjusted to bring you the comfort you need. This is a good choice for many people because the effects quickly wear off and you will be able to drive yourself home from your appointment.

Minimal to moderate oral sedation — you will be awake but may not have clear memories of the procedure. Medication is delivered orally an hour before your procedure. The dosage can be increased to deepen the relaxation. You may fall asleep during your procedure but can be easily awakened. You will need someone to drive you home from your appointment.

Normally, a local anesthetic also will be used at the site of the treatment to alleviate any pain the procedure might cause, regardless of the type of relaxation sedation you receive.

Is Relaxation Dentistry Right for You?

If you or a family member is putting off an oral examination or other necessary dental treatment because of dental anxiety, please contact our office for a consultation. We can discuss your fears with you and your level of anxiety. Together, we can determine if you would benefit from relaxation treatment and which method would be best for you. We look forward to hearing from you.
