When Dr Kagan was just 4 years old, he had a very real experience with dental fear. During an emergency extraction, the ether anesthesia he was given caused him to have vivid and terrifying “nightmares”, so realistic that he remembers every last detail to this very day. That was the day that he decided to become a dentist; and also the day he promised himself that, as a dentist, he would make sure that no one else would ever have to suffer such a horrific experience. Now at Dental Care of Boca Raton we all strive to make sure all of our patients feel comfortable — mentally, emotionally, and physically — whenever they visit us for any reason.
The first thing that sets our practice apart from other practices is that we all can relate to dental fear. It’s not just an abstract concept to us; we’ve lived it. As an entire Dental Team we have gone to great lengths to offer our patients safe and comfortable dentistry to ensure that they never fear a visit to see us.
Sedation dentistry offers patients a range of options to keep fear, anxiety, and pain at bay. From topical and spray anesthesias, mild sedation such as nitrous oxide (also known as laughing gas) to oral medications, there are several ways to always keep you comfortable. We are all very open and honest with the regard to the discussions of dental fears, and want you to know how seriously we take this issue, and how important it is to do everything in our power to allay all of your fears, and hopefully even get to a place where you actually look forward to coming to see us!
We cannot underestimate the importance of your mental and physical comfort. When you call to schedule your next appointment, be sure to ask about all of the options we have for you. The more prepared we are to help you deal with your fears, the more pleased you’ll be with your overall experience at our office. We look forward to seeing you again and changing the way you feel about dentistry.
